چکیده

The electrocoagulation (EC) process is an efficient and low-cost system for the purification of wastewater. aim this work was to investigate efficiency two types aluminum (Al) electrodes (Al alloy pure Al electrodes) treatment synthetic semi-skimmed milk Turbidity, chemical oxygen demand (COD), concentration species were monitored during experiments. effect various parameters, such as current density type nature electrode examined. results showed that exhibited a higher than electrodes. A quasi-total reduction turbidity removal approximately 58% COD achieved within 24 min at pH 7 14.3 mA cm−2. It also observed performance not affected by state surfaces (polished) under same operating conditions.

Electrocoagulation as a Wastewater Treatment

Coagulation and flocculation are traditional methods for the treatment of polluted water. Electrocoagulation presents a robust novel and innovative alternative in which a sacrificial metal anode doses water electrochemically. This has the major advantage of providing active cations required for coagulation, without increasing the salinity of the water. Electrocoagulation is a complex process wi...

Treatment of wastewater by electrocoagulation: a review.

The electrocoagulation (EC) process is an electrochemical means of introducing coagulants and removing suspended solids, colloidal material, and metals, as well as other dissolved solids from water and wastewaters. The EC process has been successfully employed in removing pollutants, pesticides, and radionuclides. This process also removes harmful microorganisms. More often during EC operation,...

Removal of Reactive Green 19 dye from synthetic wastewater using electrocoagulation and aluminum electrodes

Textile dyeing is considered to be one of the major industrial sources of high rates of organic and aromatic compounds. Conversely, these compounds have become a significant environmental problem. Many methods have been investigated for color removal from dye-containing wastewater. In this research, the efficiency of the electrocoagulation (EC) process with aluminum electrodes in the removal of...
